Intentional Learning Friendships meeting fortnightly around 5-10-5-10.
Being flexible about the numbers so they remain a call to awaken rather than a whip with which to beat ourselves.
Starting each night, after the music with a quick check in, what inspires us, what we are learning, what we need.
TED talk video scheduled for 3 out of 4 nights. These nights open to other Changemakers. Circle sharing/dialogue to follow applying what we have seen and heard to who we are and what we are doing.
One Changemaker to arrive at 7pm to set up the space and play their choice of music and lead of the sharing.
An intentional finish, eg checkout with how we are or what's staying with us.
The 4th night to be about reflecting on the process and sharing more about our 5-10-5-10 projects.
Let's finish with a party or musical whaikorero rather than drift off like we did last year.

We have decided to try another way doing 5-10-5-10 ChangeMakers in
Taranaki this winter.
We will spend three out of four meetings on “the big picture”. Each big picture
evening has one of us as the facilitator who will bring an opening piece of
music and explain why they chose it.
We will have a focused sharing about any ChangeMaker moments each of us
experienced over the week — what has inspired/repulsed me this week?
People can share about what they are learning.
The content of thee big picture evenings will be us viewing a TED (Technology,
Entertainment, Design) Talk. These are 20 minute addresses by some of the
world’s most progressive social thinkers. (found at http://www.ted. com — to
view the whole TED Talk list, click on “View as List” on the left of the screen).
The evening’s facilitating ChangeMaker has discretion to change the actual
video for the night if they have viewed it and decided another (that isn’t
scheduled to be seen later) would be better. Each TED Talk is about 20
minutes long and, after watching, we will engage in dialogue, applying what we
have seen and heard to who we are and what we are doing.
We will wind-up the evening, possibly with a quick round and the same or
another piece of music put on by the evening’s facilitator.
These evenings aren’t “public” meetings but people previously involved in the
5-10-5-10 or Heart Politics groups will be welcomed — or people who we, as
individual ChangeMakers have reason to bring along. The person doing the
inviting of these people need to make sure their guest has read the Dialogue
Reader.
Every fourth meeting will be based around our personal projects, 5-10-5-10
and upskilling issues. At these we will discuss what we as individuals need to
learn to improve our change making — and how to obtain these things. These
meeting will only be open to those of us who attended the initial weekend.
We will also have an e-group (just for those committed to the winter -07
programme) that will include an e-marketplace, a place for sharing our insights
and anything we want to about our own philanthropy and projects.
We’re also engaging in Intentional Learning Friendships, which is where we will
each be accountable to our 5-10 and be a place to discuss our learning in
regards to change making.
